In honor of Jan Wolkers, The Oud Poelgeest Estate, in cooperation with Dorpsmarketing Oegstgeest, is celebrating Jan Wolkers Month 2023! In this month we celebrate the writer, sculptor, and painter, who brought national fame to his hometown with his book "Teurg naar Oegstgeest." Several activities have been organized to celebrate:

Watercolors in the Castle
From October 18th to 22nd, there will be a watercolor exhibition in the Leeuwerikzaal of Oud Poelgeest Castle. Amateur artists will display their works, with the castle and Jan Wolkers as their themes.

Wolkers Menu
Especially for this month, the kitchen of Restaurant Oud Poelgeest has created a Wolkers Menu, with a special dessert of Het Tillenbeest. This can be booked through the reception of Oud Poelgeest or our website. View the menu here:

We end this special month with our Autumn Fair on October 22nd!

22nd of October: Autumn Fair 2023

Celebrate autumn at the Oud Poelgeest Estate! Autumnal products will be offered in various ways, with an emphasis on local, homemade and natural products. Stroll through the halls of our castle and discover the autumnal creations! From home accessories tolocally brewed beer, to honey from the estate's beekeepers, you can discover it all at our cozy Autumn Fair!
